JAMES DALLAS'S BLOG: Home of International Van of the Year

Date: Friday, September 21, 2018

This month we are delighted to announce that What Van? has become the new home of the prestigious International Van of the Year (IVOTY) award.

UK jury member George Barrow has joined our team and will be providing reviews of the latest LCVs coming to market before you’ll find them anywhere else.

The IVOTY panel is independent, democratic, non-profit making and composed of leading commercial vehicle journalists from 25 countries across Europe.

Established in 1992, the IVOTY award is one of the most prized accolades in the industry and bestowed upon the new van the jury considers will make the most outstanding contribution to the sector during the year.

The winner of the 2019 IVOTY award was announced at the IAA commercial vehicle show in Hanover on 20 September.

What Van? will also become the UK home to the biennial International Pick-up Award (IPUA) for which judging will take place next year.

To kick-off our new partnership, in this issue George brings us an exclusive First Drive of Mitsubishi’s new LCV, the Shogun Sport Commercial, as well as an in-depth insight into the light van strategy of Peugeot, Citroen and Vauxhall before the launch of the respective passenger-carrying versions, the Rifter, Berlingo and Combo Life, later this year.
