Arval and BP reach fuel card agreement

Date: Friday, September 19, 2008

Arval and BP have agreed to continue their fuel card relationship. The deal means that Arval's allstar fuel card will continue to be the only card that is accepted almost universally at UK filling stations.

The settlement comes after weeks of uncertainty when BP threatened to stop accepting the cards at its company-owned outlets.

“We are delighted that agreement has been reached, which we believe represents the best outcome for customers, dealers and both organisations. We both acknowledge the value and strength of each other's brands and the positive impact our partnership generates for all involved. Arval looks forward to working with BP,” said Danny Clenaghan, card development director at Arval.

“We are delighted that we have reached a position where we can continue the long and successful partnership with Arval. We hope this outcome will minimise the inconvenience to both customers and dealers,” commented BP's UK fuel operations manager, Pete Molloy.
