Better late than never as Fiat launches Grande Punto Van in UK

Date: Wednesday, September 5, 2007

Having sold in excess of 58,000 Grande Punto passenger cars in the UK since its introduction last year Fiat has finally replaced the old Punto Van with an LCV version of the new model.
Priced at £8,600 (excl VAT) the Grande Punto Van is powered by the same 75hp turbocharged and intercooled 1.3-litre common rail diesel as found under the bonnet of the Doblò. Peak torque of 190Nm (140 lb/ft) occurs at 1,750rpm.

The 1.0m3 load capacity van comes with remote central locking, ABS, Dualdrive power steering, radio/CD player, adjustable headlights, height-adjustable driver's seat and height/reach-adjustable steering column as standard.

Optional extras include 15in alloy wheels, headlamp washers, reverse parking sensors (for the terminally incapable on a van of this size), front fog lights and rear wash/wipe.

Colour choice is a bit limited; white or blue, with red as a special order option.
