Dyna range gets bigger engine

Date: Monday, March 19, 2007

Toyota has replaced the Dyna's old 2.5-litre Euro 3 common rail diesel engines with a more powerful Euro 4-compliant 3.0-litre unit.

It produces 108 bhp at 3,000rpm and develops its 211 lb/ft of peak torque from an impressively low 1,200rpm to 1,600rpm. The best the previous powerplants could muster was 142 lb/ft (88 bhp) or 192 lb/ft (102 bhp).

Dyna is available in three basic flavours; 300 short-wheelbase and 350 medium- or long-wheelbase. All are available as a chassis cab and dropside, with the 300 SWB and 350 MWB also offered as a one-way or three-way tipper respectively.

Basic prices start at £11,995 (excl VAT) for the 300 SWB chassis Cab.
