Freelander 2 goes Commercial

Date: Tuesday, April 1, 2008

Land Rover will unveil a commercial vehicle version of the Freelander 2 at next month's CV Show. The Freelander 2 Commercial, with a load space of 1.7m3, is based on the regular five-door Freelander, but has the rear seats and side airbags removed and replaced with a full-height bulkhead, floor lashing points, fixed rear side glass, tailgate and side window guards plus rubber load space mat.

The Freelander 2 van will be available in S and XS trim levels. In basic S specification it makes do with the basic permanent four-wheel drive system, while moving up to XS adds the advanced Terrain Response 4x4 system, alloy wheels, powered folding mirrors, full-size spare wheel, climate control and front parking sensors.

Prices start from £17,715 (excl VAT) for the S model and rise to £21,817 for the XS version. The Freelander 2 Commercial goes on sale in April.
