LDV Maxus fares better in used market

Date: Wednesday, April 11, 2007

The growing number of LDV Maxus vans coming onto the used market are attracting plenty of interest and fetching more money than they did previously. So says George Alexander, chief commercial vehicle editor at used price guide EurotaxGlass's.

“The prices being paid are improving from earlier lows,” he reports.

VW's T5 Transporter and Mercedes-Benz's latest Vito are proving popular among second-hand buyers, as are T260 and T280 Ford Transits. “Only poorly-prepared Transits with higher-than-desirable mileages taint an otherwise good performance,” Alexander observes.

At the lighter end of the market, a small flood of Peugeot 206 Vans appearing at auction have depressed the prices they fetch, he says. “Early Vauxhall Astravans are also subject to downward price pressure from newer and fresher-looking rivals,” he adds.
