Renault revamps Clio Van

Date: Tuesday, January 2, 2007

Renault has introduced a revised version of the Clio Van under the Campus banner. Based on the old Clio II car rather than the latest version, Clio Campus Van gets a redesigned tailgate with the number plate moved to the remodelled back bumper. The front bumper has been restyled too.

Up for grabs solely in 68 bhp 1.5-litre common rail diesel SL15dCi70 guise, it features ABS with Brake Assist and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, driver and passenger airbags, a multi-function trip computer, remote central locking and RAID. The initials stand for Renault's Anti-Intruder Device which locks all the doors automatically once the van reaches 5mph.

With a 1.0m 3
cargo area, the pocket load carrier can handle a payload of up to 535kg.

Price is £8,485 (excluding VAT) which makes it £640 cheaper than the previous model. Extra-cost options include air-conditioning with a heat-reflecting windscreen (£500), electric front windows (£100) and front fog lamps (£75).

Customers can also opt for the Sport Pack. It includes 14in alloy wheels, a full body kit and body coloured exterior mirrors, all for £1,100.
