Sprinter jets ahead with Wessex Water

Date: Tuesday, September 22, 2009

Three Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 313CDIs equipped with high-pressure jetters have been commissioned by Wessex Water. Made by Dutch manufacturer Rioned, the jetters are being used to clean drains and sewers.

Based in Avonmouth, Poole and Taunton, the medium-length, standard-height newcomers are active in a 10,000km2 area that encompasses Dorset, Somerset, Bristol, most of Wiltshire and parts of Gloucestershire and Hampshire.

One key benefit of the Rioned equipment is that it can be housed inside the van’s load area and operated by the driver. The system previously used had to be towed on a trailer and required a two-man crew. Fareham Mercedes dealer Pentagon supplied the Sprinters.
