A redesigned tread pattern has helped it achieve a claimed 17 per cent cut in wet braking distances compared with its predecessor and RainMax 2 is also said to offer better handling.

The newcomer is available in 20 difference sizes suitable for 13in, 14in, 15in and 16in wheels. Uniroyal is owned by Continental.
