Conquer Iceland in a Hilux

Date: Monday, February 15, 2010

Fancy an off-road adventure holiday with a difference? Arctic Trucks is arranging trips of between two and five days or longer through the wild landscape of Iceland in 4x4 Toyota Hilux pick-ups.

Its fleet includes a pair of Hilux Invincible Double Cabs equipped with special features designed to help them tackle the country’s tundra, glaciers, lava fields and mountains. They include a set of giant 38ins tyres that allow a driver to get through deep snow and across thin ice.

Arctic Trucks began business in 1990 as part of Toyota Iceland. Since then it has built up a worldwide reputation for modifying 4x4s for use in extreme conditions. Among them is the Hilux driven by Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson to the Magnetic North Pole. Toyotas prepared by the company have supported expeditions to both the North and South Poles.
