Ford supplies Transits to British Gas

Date: Friday, December 17, 2010

Ford is to supply British Gas with 343 medium wheelbase Ford Transit vans and 60 all-wheel-drive Transits as the utilities company prepares for more harsh winter weather.

The order will boost the number of Transits on the British Gas fleet to more than 1000. The vans will be liveried in the company’s corporate colours and make up part of its vehicle replacement programme. They will be put into service across Britain.

Colin Marriott, general manager of the British Gas fleet, said: “Ford offer well-engineered vans combined with great aftersales service making them the best option for our expanding fleet. The Ford Transit is very economical, offering the lowest cost of ownership in its class over a five-year, 60,000 mile lifecycle.”
