Sporty Vivaro gets extras boost

Vivaro customers who can’t quite run to a Sportive needn’t feel short-changed because they can take advantage of two different option packs that were being fitted free-of-charge to non-Sportive Vivaro vans and double-cabs at the time of writing. Worth up to £1,175 and known, rather unoriginally as Plus Packs 1 and 2, they include features such as rear parking sensors and air-conditioning.

Vivaro has recently undergone a modest revamp with a new-look dashboard and steering wheel and an aux-in socket.

Bluetooth connectivity — standard on Sportive, as indicated earlier — satellite navigation and cruise control are all now on the options list and a full-height steel bulkhead comes as standard. Pay another £50 and you can have one with a window in it. Customers who don’t want a bulkhead at all get a full-height driver’s guard free of charge instead.

Service intervals on all Vivaros have been extended from 18,000 to 20,000 miles. Still with servicing, Vauxhall has just launched dexos2, parent company General Motors’ own brand of engine oil. In 5W30 guise it will be used to service all Vauxhalls produced from model year 2010 onwards.
