Mercedes-owned retailer to sell vans in London

Date: Thursday, February 3, 2011

The factory-owned Mercedes-Benz Retail Group, the brand’s largest UK retailer, is opening a series of van sales points across London.

In the first quarter of 2011, MBRG will begin selling its Vito and Sprinter vans from its Colindale, Croydon, Brentford and East London dealerships. The group will also introduce specialist service and repair facilities for commercial vehicles to Romford, Stratford and Croydon to complement its existing aftersales centres in Brentford and Park Royal.

MBRG’s customer service manager Mark Middleton said: “As part of our commitment to excellence in customer service we will be offering a complete solution for van sales and aftercare, including finance and insurance, servicing, parts, bodyshops, and 24-hour Mercedes-Benz Roadside Assistance Recovery.”

Middleton said the group had chosen the retail centres for their positioning on major road routes in and out of London “to serve the high proportion of our van customers who travel within the M25”.

“We want to bring the Mercedes-Benz car retail experience to the van market in order to give van owners and drivers what they want and deserve,” he added.

The three-pointed star brand’s commercial vehicles have previously only been sold through its franchised network. MBRG has, as yet, announced no plans to retail vans from its outlets in the other major conurbations of Birmingham and Manchester.
