Date: Tuesday, March 5, 2013

Ford showcased a range of people-movers at the Geneva Motor Show that are based on the same lines as a raft of commercial vehicles to follow within the next 12 months.

The compact five-seat Tourneo Courier prefaces the Transit Courier van, which will give Ford a bigger presence in the city van segment alongside the Fiesta Van when it goes on sale next year.

The Courier is offered with 1.5-litre 75hp and 1.6-litre 95hp Duratorq TDCi diesels as well as the 100hp 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine. All are available with auto start/stop.

The blue oval stand also included the five-seat Tourneo Connect and seven-seat Grand Tourneo Connect – passenger carrying relatives of the forthcoming short and long-wheelbase Transit Connect panel vans. The powertrain line-up includes the 1.6-litre Duratorq TDCi diesel with a choice of 75, 95 and 115hp versions, and the 100hp 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, plus a version of the1.6-litre EcoBoost engine available with a six-speed automatic transmission.
