Isuzu increases D-max towing limit

Date: Monday, June 3, 2013

Isuzu has increased the maximum braked towing capacity of its 4x4 D-Max pick-up models by 500kg to a joint class-leading 3.5-tonnes.

The manufacturer said the increase was made to satisfy customer demand for extra capacity. The new certification applies to models registered in the UK from July and Isuzu claimed it confirmed the D-max as the “most capable pick-up in the segment”.

William Brown, general manager at Isuzu UK said: “The Isuzu D-Max already boasts class-leading fuel efficiency, residual values and our pioneering five-year / 125,000-mile warranty, however the addition of segment-best 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity demonstrates that the Isuzu D-Max is the pick-up of choice for business and recreational users alike.

Isuzu UK notched up record sales in the plate-change month of March when it shifted 824 pick-ups.

The increase in the D-max's towing capacity puts it alongside the Ford Ranger, which Ford said registered a 3.5-tonne braked trailer weight in March.
