Date: Friday, July 26, 2013

Ford has claimed it made no compulsory redundancies in closing down its Southampton plant on 26 July.
It said the 531 employees at Southampton, which built small and medium Transit vans, had been redeployed in the company or taken voluntary redundancy or early retirement. Ford is investing £12m in a vehicle distribution centre at Southampton docks and a vehicle refurbishment centre on the plant site.
