Road deaths reach record low

The number of people killed on the roads in Great Britain last year was the lowest since records began in 1926, according to the DfT.
The number of fatalities was down 8% on 2012 to 1754, while serious injuries dropped by 0.4% to 23,039. Total casualties was down 4% at 195,723 and traffic levels fell by 0.4% in the same period.
