Fiat Professional has delivered 22 Doblo Cargo vans and 10 Doblo Work Up pick-up vehicles to A-Plant, an equipment and tool hire business in Preston.

The Doblo Cargo vans ordered are predominantly standard-wheelbase vehicles, powered by the firm’s 1.3-litre diesel engine, and will be used to carry surveying equipment, such as automatic levels, total stations and rotating lasers to construction businesses.

The pick-ups operate in London and are equipped with tail-lifts to help the vans deliver large or awkwardly-proportioned cargo items.

A-Plant has ordered a total of 123 Fiat vehicles since 2007, the company said.

“Getting our equipment delivered to where it's needed and at the time we’ve promised the customer is critical to the success of A-Plant and in order to do that we need a fleet of vehicles that are capable, versatile and very dependable,” said Shaun Winstanley, A-Plan director of transport. “The Fiat Doblò Cargo fits the bill perfectly because it also manages to offer extremely low running costs and a substantial payload within its compact shape.”
