Auto Styling Truckman has announced it is supplying 140 bespoke Truckman Utility Tops to Network Rail’s new fleet of Volkswagen Amarok pick-ups.

Network Rail recently acquired more than 300 Volkswagen commercial vehicles, including the Amarok. The vehicles will be fitted with the tops at Listers Volkswagen Commercials in Coventry.

Network Rail awarded a contract to Clarks Vehicle Conversions and it specified a Truckman top had to be fitted to the vehicles. Auto Styling Truckman said it has increased its production in order to deliver a finished conversion that fits Network Rail’s specification.

As part of the order, Auto Styling Truckman is supplying 22 Truckman Classic hard tops with double side access for Network Rail’s existing Toyota Hilux single cab pick-ups.

“This is a significant order for our business, both in terms of the number of tops we are manufacturing, but also because it is for an organisation that plays such an important role in maintaining and delivering a core element of the UK’s transport infrastructure,” said Mike Wheeler, managing director of Auto Styling Truckman.
