London-headquartered delivery company Absolutely has acquired MayDH for an undisclosed sum.

MayDH’s acquisition includes the international courier, freight, UK overnight and same-day operations and Absolutely said MayDH is integrating into the group well.

Its operations are set to be integrated into Absoutely’s Heathrow base this summer. Absolutely claimed it operates the second-largest van fleet in London, after CitySprint, with 250-300 vans on its books, though the majority of its fleet is made up of owner-drivers.

MayDH has been operating for more than 35 years with an annual turnover of £2m. Clients include “impressive multimedia organisations” according to Absolutely, saying services will continue under the MayDH banner “in the short term to ensure business and service continuity”.

“I am delighted we have acquired such a reputable and well established business. This acquisition will add significant revenue to our group as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience to our international operations. We have been completely committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all involved,” said Jeremy Thompson, managing director of Absolutely. “The acquisition of MayDH is underpinned by our business strategy to grow significantly over the coming years. Our customers remain our utmost priority and we will continue to offer unrivalled international, same day, UK overnight and passenger transport services.”
