Renault Kangoo ZE’s range to increase by 50% to 168 miles

Renault has announced it will increase the range of its Kangoo ZE electric van by 50%, from 106 miles to 168 miles on the controlled NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) rating.

According to the French manufacturer, the extended range will allow the model to travel for up to 124 miles in real-world driving conditions, and is made possible thanks to a new motor and battery.

Renault claimed the new battery means the Kangoo ZE will offer the largest range in the small electric van market. Nissan’s e-NV200 electric van has a range of 106 miles.

Further information about the new Kangoo will be provided on 13 January 2017 at its unveiling at the Brussels Commercial Vehicle Show.

The Kangoo ZE went on sale in 2011 and blazed the trail for EVs after becoming the first electric van to win the prestigious What Van? Van of the Year Award in 2012.
