Anchor Vans announces expansion

Independent CV retailer Anchor Vans is to expand its flagship dealership.

The firm has acquired a two-acre site next to its existing site in Padworth, just outside Reading, Berkshire.

Work to expand into the new site is set to begin this year, taking the firm’s facility up to five acres overall.

The new space will provide a permanent location for the valeting department, an area for transporters to unload away from the busy main road, and more room for stock.

The firm, which sells all makes and models of commercial vehicles across three locations, says the expansion is needed as the current site is running at full capacity.

It says the project will improve working processes and also reduce local traffic, as there will be less movement of vehicles between its locations.

Anchor Vans MD Simon Joyce said: “We are thrilled to announce the expansion of our main site and we are excited about the improvements it will bring to our business, our employees’ working lives and the local community.

“Our family-run business has been operating in the local area for over 30 years, and we look forward to continuing our growth, which will open up further job opportunities within our area."

The announcement follows the recent granting of planning approval for renovations to the company’s Midgham site, also in Berkshire, which includes a new glass-fronted showroom and an additional MOT bay.
