Peugeot reveals new Partner light van

Peugeot has revealed details of its new Partner light van, which will go on sale in November 2018.
The model is made alongside the Berlingo from Peugeot’s PSA Alliance partner, Citroen on the manufacturers’ EMP2 platform, which also produces the Combo for Opel/Vauxhall.
The Partner is available in two lengths, Standard (4.40m) and Long (4.75m) with load volumes on the Standard derivative ranging from 3.3m3 to 3.8m3 . The Long version offers load volumes of 3.9m3 to 4.4m3 while payloads across the line-up go from 600kg to 1,000kg. The interior is fitted with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit as standard – the first time the brand has used the layout, which features in its passenger cars, in an LCV.
The cabin is available with a bench seat for three people including a fold down side passenger seat for longer loads and a middle seat that converts into a desk. The Long version of the Partner is available as a crew van as well as in single-cab mode.
Like Citroen’s Berlingo, Peugeot is marketing the Partner with two versions of the 1.2-litre Puretech petrol engine and three BlueHDi diesels.
The 130hp petrol with stop/start and the EAT8 eight-speed automatic transmission will join the range next year while from launch the 110hp six-speed manual unit will be available.
The diesels come with outputs of 75, 100 and 130hp. The smaller engines come with five-speed manual gearboxes while the 130hp is offered with the EAT8 auto or six-speed manual transmission.
The 100 and 130hp powertrains come with stop/start.
The Partner comes in two specifications, which also correspond to Citroen’s Berlingo, but in Peugeot-speak these are Grip, for the enhanced traction control model and Asphalt for the version designed for longer journeys and delivery work.
Driver assistance features include electric parking brake, adaptive cruise control, extended traffic sign recognition, active lane keeping assist, driver attention warning, active safety brake, a tow-bar stabiliser, automatic headlight dipping, the Visiopark 180 parking camera, blind spot monitoring and hands-free entry and start.
Like the Berlingo, the new Partner gets Overload Alert to warn the driver if the payload limit is exceeded.
Connected Pack options include the Monitoring Pack, to give maintenance alerts and the tracking Pack to geo-locate the Partner in real time and assist the police in the event of theft.
Also on offer for fleet managers are the Connect Fleet Management Pack, which monitors mileage depending on the hours of use, giving an assessment of fuel consumption and when service intervals are required, the Eco-drive Pack, which adds driving analysis with advice customised for the driver and the Geolocation Pack, which provides real-time vehicle tracking, showing routes taken and vehicle downtime.
Peugeot says it will bring a conversion range to market in collaboration with its conversion partners with bodystyles including emergency and assistance vehicles, building sector vehicles, a pick-up, refrigerated vehicles and 4x4s.
