A new range of tracking and management products for LCV fleets has been launched by technology company ZF.

It says its LCV solutions suite has been designed to offer a comprehensive portfolio of proven technology to manage vehicles from a single all-in-one back office platform, TX-Connect.

The suite includes ZF’s Vehicle Tracking Solutions product, which allows fleets to track each vehicle, and inform customers of arrival times. Dispatchers can also assign the next job to the most appropriate driver based on factors such as the shortest travel times.

Also on offer is the TX-Flex driver app, which allows management of each individual delivery, including electronic signatures, photographs of delivered or damaged goods, barcode scans and any other details that may be relevant to a specific delivery or collection.

ZF also offers fleet operators real-time visibility of fuel costs, including a ranking system which includes driver performance, the distances they have covered, and the fuel consumed by their vehicle to determine the fuel efficiency per vehicle. Technology is also included to detect fuel level anomalies.

Fleet operators also get a safety performance overview and real-time safety alerts, while drivers get a safety panic alarm hidden in the cabin, and a security immobiliser prevents the vehicle from starting unless the driver has correctly logged on to the system.

ZF commercial vehicle control systems business leader for digital customer services EMEA Peter Bal said: “Light commercial vehicles fulfil a vitally important role within the logistics and transportation industry and our pioneering suite of LCV solutions is specifically designed to address growing demand from this key sector.

“Further demonstrating ZF’s differentiating solutions for commercial fleets of all sizes and vehicle types, this important launch reflects our unwavering determination to help operators and fleets achieve ever greater levels of safety, operational efficiency and customer service.”
