Mercedes-Benz has announced UK specs and prices for its upgraded eVito electric van.

The model now features a larger, 66kWh battery, allowing a range of up to 162 miles on the official WLTP cycle, while a 10-80% battery charge is possible in 35 minutes using a public rapid charger. Alternatively, a full charge takes six-and-a-half hours using an 11kW wallbox.

The updated eVito gains a new ‘DAUTO’ driving mode, which allows the van to automatically adjust levels of battery energy recovery when on the move, to maximise efficiency.

New standard safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, attention alert, and adaptive cruise control.

The Mercedes Me app allows the driver to pre-condition the cabin’s temperature remotely while the van is charging, and also monitors the condition of critical van components to update maintenance schedules and reduce downtime.

The range features two trim levels – Progressive and Premium. Standard equipment with Progressive spec includes air conditioning, a heated driver’s seat, a reversing camera, DAB radio, and a 7in touchscreen with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

Further equipment with Premium spec includes metallic paint, colour-coded bumpers, 17in alloy wheels, parking sensors, electrically-folding door mirrors, and seat lumbar support.

Prices start at £43,600 for an L2 Progressive van, excluding both VAT and the UK Government’s plug-in van grant.

Orders are open now, with the first UK deliveries expected in March.
