The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme that promotes best practice for commercial vehicle operators. With over 5,000 members, FORS is gaining recognition as the transport industry’s go-to accreditation scheme.
FORS encompasses all aspects of safety, efficiency, and environment by encouraging and training fleet operators to measure, monitor and improve performance. FORS provides accreditation pathways for operators of any type, and for those organisations that award contracts and specify transport requirements.

FORS Professional is the new brand name for FORS’ comprehensive package of courses, workshops, eLearning and support materials including toolbox talks, toolkits and practical reference guides for managers and drivers with cutting-edge content to help operators meet the FORS Standard.
With nearly 50,000 FORS vehicles now vans, FORS delivers the Van Smart driver training package, developed by TfL, free to FORS members. The training is also endorsed by the DVSA. Van Smart aims to reduce work-related road risks whole also creating long-term behavioural changes in the sector, brining increased ‘professional’ awareness among drivers.
