What Van? Awards 2016: Winners revealed

Date: Tuesday, December 15, 2015   |   Author: James Dallas

The What Van? Awards are renowned as the most prized independent endorsements of excellence in the light commercial vehicle industry.

In 2016 the most influential title in the sector rubber stamps the outstanding performers in 13 crucial light commercial sectors as well as revealing the top dog – the winner of the prestigious What Van? 2016 LCV of the Year.

In addition, we have opened the doors to the What Van? Hall of Fame for the third time to usher in two more deserving entrants who, in their different ways, have made exemplary contributions to the light commercial vehicle industry in the UK.

Following its successful and popular debut last year, we have continued our reader-voted accolade, in the shape of the Van Converter Award. Once more we asked you to choose the best LCV body builder or racking specialist from a 25-strong shortlist compiled by our expert panel.

In the past this has been an area of the market that has tended to be taken for granted and not to receive the recognition it merits for the fundamentally vital service it provides to LCV operators so we are delighted to redress the balance by including it in our roster of awards for 2016.

Every year the panel of What Van?’s editorial staff draw on expertise accrued over decades to select the light commercial vehicles, services and innovations they believe most deserve a prize. We’re not afraid to call it as we see it during the year so it’s good to be able to reward the best in the business and to highlight to an increasingly sophisticated and demanding industry the products and services we consider will serve our readership best.

Not everyone can be a winner and the bar continues to be raised in quality terms across all categories.

A special thanks goes out to our sponsor, Allstar, which is pioneering the fuelcard market in terms of the vital services it can provide to its customers.
