Fraikin wins major deal with Lyreco

Office stationery and supplies specialist Lyreco is taking delivery of 84 commercial vehicles from Fraikin under a four-year, full-service contract hire agreement. The deal includes 44 Ford Transit 3.5-tonners — the first Transit diesels ever to join the Lyreco fleet — and 40 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 5.0-tonners.

As well as arranging for the vehicles to be maintained Fraikin will ensure they are collected when they need servicing and delivered back to the customer, taxed and MOT tested. It will also arrange for their tyres to be replaced as and when required and for roadside rescue and recovery to be provided if necessary. In addition it will send Lyreco monthly fleet management reports.

The new fleet will be spread across the operator's countrywide network of 20 regional distribution centres. On the road up to six days a week, each van is set to cover up to 30,000 miles annually.

Lyreco appointed Fraikin as its sole supplier of commercial vehicles on contract hire just over two years ago.
