Obtaining accreditation involved submitting the locks to vigorous attack testing followed by visits to the factory by the centre's representatives to check quality and procedures.
Independent automotive lock specialist Locks 4 Vans has obtained accreditation for its T Series locks under the new Thatcham Quality Accreditation programme. Thatcham is shorthand for the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre based at Thatcham in Berkshire.
The T Series line-up includes slamlocks and deadlocks. Thatcham has also accredited Defender, designed to protect manufacturer-fitted locking mechanisms against attacks using screwdrivers and other implements.
