Mercedes Vito gets the X-Factor

Date: Wednesday, July 18, 2007

A go-faster limited edition Vito has been unveiled by Mercedes under the Sport-X banner.
Fitted with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel that pumps out 204 bhp and develops 325 lb/ft of torque, it boasts a 0-60mph time of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 122mph, says the manufacturer. A five-speed automatic gearbox comes as standard.

Its distinctive looks are in part courtesy of tuning and body styling specialist Brabus. It's pitched in with 18in Monoblock-S alloy wheels and a deep front spoiler with integrated fog lamps.

For your money you also get a chrome front grille and chrome steel side bars with integrated steps, colour-keyed bumpers and side rubbing strips, roof rails and Sport-X badges on the driver and front passenger doors.

You can have it with either a Compact or a Long body and as a standard van or a Dualiner, with a second row of seats. Internal goodies include satellite navigation, air conditioning and leather seats.

Only 125 of the newcomers are destined for the UK this year. You'll pay £24,995 plus on-the-road costs for the Compact van.
