Shell tanker drivers strike a deal

This weekend's scheduled strike by Shell tanker drivers has been called off after unions and management reached an agreement over pay. A four-day strike starting Friday morning was scheduled to repeat the fuel shortages seen last weekend.
Neither side has commented officially on the details of the agreement, although it is understood a pay increase was offered. (Turns out the drivers will receive an inflation-busting 14 per cent pay rise over two years - Ed).
The only people unhappy about the settlement is the Government, which has called for pay rises to be limited to slow down inflation.
