VW van dealer in management buy-out

Operating Volkswagen light commercial dealerships in Birmingham, Bilston and Shrewsbury, dealer Hartshorne Van Services has been bought out by the management from parent company Hartshorne Motor Services. The latter company is best known as a Volvo truck dealer and also represents Hino.
The bought-out business will trade as Walkmill Group, with Brian Bachelor as group operations director and Gilly Granger as group managing director. “With the ownership issues now concluded we have secured control of our own destiny, removing uncertainty for our employees,” Granger says.
In a move that affects all its Van Centres, VW has extended its contract hire and finance lease offer on Transporter van until 30 September. The deal includes free servicing for three years or 30,000 miles, whichever comes first, and means that the solidly-built workhorse is on offer at from £209 a month plus VAT.
