Young quits LDV

Date: Friday, January 11, 2008

In a surprise move, LDV chief executive and director, Steve Young, has quit to pursue other opportunities in the motor industry after barely 18 months with the company. He joined when Russian automotive giant GAZ acquired the Birmingham-based van maker in July 2006.

His replacement as a director of the firm is Eugeny Vereschagin, chief financial officer of GAZ's powertrain division. The name of the new chief executive has yet to be announced.
