Isuzu Truck provides food for thought

Date: Thursday, July 29, 2010

Thirty-one Isuzu Forward N75.190 7.5-tonners have just gone into service with Waltham Abbey, Essex-based independent food distributor Reynolds.

Fitted with Easyshift automated manual transmissions, the newcomers all boast single-compartment Solomon temperature-controlled bodies equipped with Carrier Transicold Xarios 600 direct-drive refrigeration units.

Destined to stay with Reynolds for from five to seven years, and spread around the company’s five depots nationwide, the Isuzus will be used on delivery routes typically involving 25 to 30 drops a day.

Reynolds first started operating Isuzus in 2003 and now runs nearly 70. Forty-five per cent of the business’s 164 trucks are 7.5-tonners and Isuzu tends to be the preferred choice at that weight.
