Northgate rebrands rental network

Date: Friday, October 1, 2010

Van rental giant Northgate has re-branded its entire network as Northgate Vehicle Hire. With more than 60 depots across Britain and Ireland and 60,000, mainly light commercial, vehicles, the company previously marketed what it had to offer under 20 different local brand names.

As well as completing new signage across its network, Northgate has also launched a new website with online booking facilities.

Marketing director Ross Clarkson said: “These changes are already delivering higher levels of brand awareness and increasing demand for vehicles from both our corporate and retail customers.” He said the re-brand was backed by a set of best practice processes designed to deliver more consistent levels of customer service.

The move comes at a time when long-term rental – opting to rent a van for up to a year or more – is experiencing a mini-boom, with firms choosing to hire vehicles that they can return at short notice rather than commit themselves to purchasing or leasing in an uncertain business climate.
