Payload boost for Berlingo First

Citroen Commercial has ramped up the payload of its entry-level Berlingo First by 25%.

Following the increase in payload from 600kg to 749kg, Citroen has designated the model as the Berlingo First 750.

The 1.6HDi 75hp van, which is priced at £11,435 excluding VAT, has also received an underbody engine protection plate and suspension revisions. As a result gross vehicle weight has increased from 1,730kg to 1,955kg and braked trailer towing capacity has risen to 1,070kg.

Robert Handyside, Citroen’s UK CV boss, said: “The well-proven Berlingo First is now an even better budget choice for van buyers. With its latest payload and towing gains this van remains a practical and economical choice for a wide range of businesses.”
