Toyota rules out CV Show

Date: Wednesday, November 10, 2010

Toyota has confirmed that it will not attend the Commercial Vehicle Show which returns to Birmingham’s NEC in April 2011.

The manufacturer said it would not be taking a stand at the exhibition as it would have no new product to show at the time of the event.

Volkswagen said it had not made a final decision about whether to attend the show but that it was “still considering the possibility”.

Other manufacturers have been keen to pledge their support to the CV showcase which is making its comeback following the scaled down CV Operators Show that took place in April 2010.

Ford Commercial Vehicles said it planned to attend and had already paid its deposit and Renault said it had strong plans for the show if it got the go-ahead to exhibit once its budgets were confirmed.

Peugeot said it was very likely to attend and Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Vauxhall and Fiat all plan to be there. Iveco said a planned display for the CV Show was in its budget awaiting approval but Citroen will delay making a decision until nearer the start date.
