Robert Pieczka has been appointed as the new managing director of fuel card company FuelGenie.

Pieczka previously worked as the marketing director at leasing company Arval, and before that he was the managing director of fuelcard company Allstar, which Arval owned until 2011.

FuelGenie's network currently covers 1250 outlets, including those owned by supermarket brands Tesco and Morrisons, and the cards can also be used to pay for vehicle washes.

"Unlike every other fuel card on the market, there are no card fees, no transaction fees and no card replacement fees," he told BusinessCar, claiming that the fuel cards are unique in the marketplace thanks to 45 day credit.

While the company has in the past focused on SMEs, Pieczka told BusinessCar that the business is "proving to be more attractive to larger businesses too."

"I joined the business to take it to the next chapter of growth", Pieczka added, suggesting that, thanks to his Arval background, he could make leasing companies an attractive partner for FuelGenie.

"Over time, we're looking to work with partners, be they leasing companies or fuel retailers and dealers to expand the appeal of FuelGenie to not just small businesses but medium-sized businesses as well."

"I will certainly be looking at how we can provide added value services to our existing customer base and new users," he continued, suggesting the firm could branch out into allowing its customers to pay for tyres and servicing in the future with the card.
