Ssangyong Musso joins the 3.5 tonne-up club

Date: Thursday, March 30, 2017   |

Ssangyong has increased the towing capacity of its Musso one-tonne pick-up to 3,500kg.

The announcement increases the amount the vehicle can tow by 500kg, meaning the pick-up is more suited to towing the likes of a horsebox, boat or work trailer.

The Musso’s towing capacity now matches the Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-max, Nissan Navara and Toyota Hilux.

“This is great news for customers looking for a value for money pick-up and who need to tow a heavy trailer,” said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK.

“Tough and robust with a specification, price and warranty no others can match, the facts clearly position the Musso as the top value truck in the pick-up market,” he claimed.

It is powered by a 178hp 2.2-litre diesel engine which emits 186g/km of CO2 and returns 40.0mpg on the official cycle.

The Musso also has a one-tonne payload and a 2.0 metre squared loadbed, which the firm said is big enough to carry a Euro pallet.

The pick-up is priced from £16,395 excluding VAT and is covered by a five-year unlimited mileage warranty.
