CPD Bodies to expand business in order to cope with “unprecedented” demand

Bodybuilder CPD Bodies has announced plans to expand its business over the next three years in order to cope with increased demand.
As part of the plan, the firm said it would spend £1 million on building a new 6,000 square foot workshop for luton-bodied vehicles.
CPD added it would also add an extra workshop on an acre of land next to the existing factory to meet bespoke chassis conversions.
The Teeside-based converter also announced it has acquired 4.6 acres of land in order to expand its storage and completed build centre. Once finished, the firm claimed it would have the largest independent pre-build and pre-delivery facility in the UK, totaling 14 acres.
As a result of the expansion plans, the brand estimated it would be able to create around 20 new jobs, taking the total workforce to around 150 employees.
“This investment comes as the result of unprecedented demand for our range of 3.5t chassis based conversions and specialist lightweight bodies,” said Cathal Doocey, managing director of CPD Bodies. “We currently produce over 2,500 chassis per annum. By reinvesting back into the business with additional preparation, production and finishing facilities, aligned to additional secure storage, it will enable us to scale even further our already substantial production and build capacity.”
