Vehicle rental group Europcar has reinforced its focus on the light commercial vehicle fleet sector by opening a van hub in Fareham, Hampshire to serve the south of England.

Europcar claimed it now has the biggest van rental network in the UK with 14 supersites offering customers delivery and collection within four business hours.

“In the last two years, Europcar has significantly expanded its commercial fleet, delivering a much broader choice of specialist vehicles permanently on fleet to meet customer demand,” said Stuart Russell, Specialist Vehicle director for Europcar UK. “The new Europcar supersite in Fareham offers access to a fleet of standard and specialist vehicles in a location that’s ideal for businesses operating all along the M3 and A3 corridors.”

Europcar said the Fareham centre was set up to cater for orders of two to 20 LCVs covering both short- and long-term leases for businesses of all sizes.

All the supersites employ specialists to advise small business owners and fleet managers on choosing the right vans for their needs.

Europcar’s LCV fleet comprises core models from car-derived vans to large vans and pick-ups as well as specialist vehicles such as crew vans and Chapter 8 vehicles.

It also offers a bespoke fitting service, covering internal racking, roof racks, towbars, beacons and tool boxes.

Europcar argues that in the current economic climate rental deals can make financial sense for businesses keeping a close eye on cashflow.

“Long-term rental offers an alternative for businesses that don’t want to tie-up capital in vehicle ownership,” stressed Russell.

“At a time of economic uncertainty, Europcar offers the flexibility businesses need, with long-term hire at a fixed rate without the commitment a traditional leasing agreement expects.”
