Ford has unveiled a facelifted version of its Ranger pick-up.
Available in regular cab, super cab and double cab bodystyles, it comes with four-wheel drive as standard.
Power comes from a new 2.0-litre Ecoblue diesel engine, tuned to produce 130hp or 170hp with a single turbo, or 213hp with a bi-turbo set-up – the latter installed in the high-performance Raptor model.
Respective torque figures are 340Nm, 420Nm and 500Nm.
Official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are 35.3mpg and 209g/km for the 130hp engine, 34mpg and 216g/km for the 170hp, and 30.7mpg and 228g/km with the 213hp.
A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, while the 170hp and 213hp engines are also available with a ten-speed automatic.
A 3.2-litre diesel engine from the outgoing model also remains available.
Ford claims off-road driving capabilities for the new Ranger include a wading depth of 800mm, 230mm of ground clearance, a 29-degree approach angle and a 21-degree departure angle.
The new Ranger can tow up to 3,500kg, and has a payload capacity of up to 1,252kg.
Standard driver assistance technologies include autonomous emergency braking and intelligent speed assist.
Also available are active park assist, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.
ESC with rollover mitigation and trailer sway control is standard.
Exterior styling features include a revised front bumper design and a new grille, while higher-spec versions get bi-xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights.
Top-end Limited and Wildtrak grades get a new easy-lift tailgate fitted with a torsion bar designed to significantly reduce the effort needed to close it.
The new Ranger is set to arrive in Europe in mid-2019.
