The Royal Mail is taking delivery of 190 electric vans, which will be wrapped in green, instead of the usual red, by livery company Mediafleet.

The Mercedes-Benz eVito and Peugeot Partner Electric will be wrapped using Mediafleet’s WrapidCoat system, which can be sprayed on like paint, but peels off twice as quickly as a vinyl wrap, the company claims.

WrapidCoat is sprayed onto a base colour (red, in the case of the Royal Mail) to create a design using the two colours. This makes the Royal Mail’s vans look like their traditional red colour is peeling off to reveal a green van.

Mediafleet managing director Barnaby Smith said: “Royal Mail’s branding team saw the potential of a unique vehicle livery to promote the new electric vans, which were to [have been] delivered as white vans. Mediafleet was engaged to assist with artwork production and facilitate prototype design and we also had the capability to handle the volume of vehicles.”
