Toyota’s Land Cruiser Commercial has been given a new engine.

The new 2.8-litre diesel produces 27hp more than the outgoing unit, along with 50nm of extra torque.

It also meets the RDE2 emissions standard.

The new engine is being rolled out across the Land Cruiser Commercial range, which includes three-door and five-door models, and Utility and Active trim levels.

Utility models come with a six-speed manual gearbox, while Active models get a six-speed automatic.

The Active trim level also now comes with Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity.

Prices including VAT are £35,925 for a three-door Utility, £37,560 for a five-door Utility, £41,225 for a three-door Active, and £42,175 for a five-door Active.

Toyota says deliveries of the Land Cruiser Commercial with the new engine will begin in the autumn, following the arrival of Land Cruiser passenger car variants with the new engine in October.
