Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has made a mobile service team available to help keep a delivery firm operating during the Covid-19 crisis.

The Mobile Service Clinic, which is a converted large Crafter van, is run by technicians from the Breeze Motor Group’s sites in Portsmouth, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. It is permanently on call to support fleet partner Logistics 4 U, which runs a fleet of VW vans for courier company DPD Local making vital deliveries to people in need during the pandemic.

The Mobile Service Clinic is kitted out with an array of tools including compressed air jacks and a hand washbasin.

The mobile technicians operating the clinic are able to carry out servicing work, inspections, repairs and software updates, helping to minimise the time delivery vans need to spend off the road.

Claire English, head of fleet at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said: “We’re delighted Breeze Motor Group has committed to supporting its local key workers and is helping keep DPD Local and a number of major delivery workers on the road.

“We’re proud to stand by our Working With You promise and are doing everything we can to support our fleet customers who are out delivering vital products and services to those in need during the Covid-19 crisis.”
