The first commercially-available production hydrogen van has been produced by Vauxhall’s sister brand Opel.

The first Vivaro-E Hydrogen has joined the fleet of appliance manufacturer Miele in Germany.

Vauxhall is said to be actively speaking to UK business customers now about the model, with right-hand drive vans set to arrive from early 2023.

The Vivaro-E Hydrogen features a 45kW fuel cell, and has a driving range of more than 249 miles on the official WLTP cycle, while its hydrogen tank can be refuelled in three minutes.

Alternatively, the van’s 10.5kWh battery can be plugged in for external charging, offering up to 31 miles of pure battery range.

The Vivaro-E Hydrogen has a 1,000kg payload, and offers up to 6.1m3 of cargo volume with a long body version, or 5.3m3 with a medium body.
