Great Wall has revealed a facelifted version of its Steed pick-up truck. It will be priced from £14,998 and will go on sale in mid-October.
The top of the range Steed SE is priced £16,998 and Great Wall has introduced a special edition Tracker model for £15,998.
It is powered by the same unit as before, a 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is now Euro 5 compliant. The Steed will have the six-year / 125,000 mile warranty that was introduced in April 2013.
The engine produces 139hp, emits 222g/km CO2 and has a torque figure of 305Nm over a rev range between 1800 and 2800. The payload remains the same as the outgoing model – 1050kg – while Great Wall has increased the braked trailer weight from 2.0-tonnes to 2.5-tonnes.
A Great Wall spokesman said that much of the £1000 price hike over the outgoing model factors in the additional standard features – including electric windows and daytime running lights – as well as price inflation over the last two years.
