Based on the 3500 long-wheelbase Maxi roof van, the latest acquisitions are fitted with air suspension on the rear axle, fully-adjustable driver and passenger seats, an electric pack and are delivered to UV Modular factory-finished in ambulance yellow. The Yorkshire-based converter installs side windows, internal fittings and lights and an electrically-powered access ramp. It also fits blue lights along with Battenberg chequered external identification and the West Midlands Ambulance logos.

“Our crews have found Movano to be driver-friendly and comfortable both for them and for their patients,” says regional head of fleet, Graham Cann. “It has proved to be a practical vehicle too, with good parts availability, and one that our fitters find easy to work on,” he adds. “It represents good value for money, which is important with today’s pressures on budgets.”

During their projected five years in service the new Movanos will cover at least 250,000 miles apiece.
