The RAC has expanded its vehicle-checking service to cover light commercial vehicles.
Prospective used van buyers are able to use the service to check vehicle history, with customers being able to find out whether the LCV has been stolen, written-off or still on finance, while the service also provides a personalised valuation as well as a check-list of things to look out for when viewing the vehicle.
The launch of the vans service follows on from the RAC’s used car checking service, which the breakdown provider claims is used by thousands of motorists.
“Our comprehensive vehicle data check product has already given thousands of motorists greater confidence when buying a used car, so we are pleased to now be able to extend the service and offer it to businesses in the market for their next LCV,” said RAC director of motoring services, Rob Diamond. “The LCV market is booming and there are bargains to be had in the private used market in particular, but understandably small businesses looking for their next vehicle will want some reassurance that their purchase is a good one – not least because small businesses clock up so many more miles per year on average than private motorists.”
The checks are priced from £14.99 per van.
