Ford has supplied 100 new Transit Connect vans in January to the Mears Group, a Gloucester-based firm that provides maintenance services to local authorities and registered social landlords.
As part of a five-year contract, Ford will deliver up to 1000 vans a year to the company, with the deal also set to include Transit Custom models.
Mears said its fleet of 4300 vans are used by its 16,000-strong workforce to deliver 6000 repairs a day to a portfolio of nearly one million properties.
“The new Transit Connect’s fresh styling, greater load space, better economy, emissions and whole life costs are the factors which make it a very attractive prospect for us,” said Jo Hammonds, group asset manager.
